23 Nov Photo Recap: PMTV Alamitos
On the 8th of November, Place-make the Vote returned to the location where it’s prototype was born and just like last time things got lively. Participants were able to see Long Beach Senior Center transformed their parking lot into a fun day under the sun with games such as jumbo Jenga and cornhole, beach chairs, umbrellas and an enormous inflatable Queen Mary Slide. An inflatable slide that was most defiantly enjoyed not just by kids but by slide-loving adults as well. If playing games or sitting under an umbrella to keep cool and watch the clouds go by wasn’t really someone’s cup of tea there was still a bunch of more things to do. Music was playing throughout the day (provide by DJ Jedi Jimenez), a photobooth (Smilebooth) had a table full of election themed props that proved GIFs and printout polaroids, The Studio (the city’s first maker space brought to us by the Long Beach Public Library) brought their 3D printing machine, and Shady Grove Foods also stopped by with some delicious free tacos for lunch.
